چکیده
Biological control by beneficial microorganisms is known to significantly reduce the effect of pests on crops yield. Among biocontrol strategies use entomopathogenic fungi such as Hirsutella citriformis, which has been applied infect and kill hemipteran insect pests, including Diaphorina citri Kuwayama (Hemiptera: Liviidae) Bactericera cockerelli Sulc. Triozidae). These biological agents are in form conidia that often combined with other inert materials facilitate application, protect conidia, improve their shelf life. The aim this study was implement for developing formulations increase We evaluated gum produced from one strain two different H. citriformis strains. Conidia were formulated evaluating concentrations Acacia gums enhance viability during storage at 4 °C or 25 °C. Results indicated maintained least 90 d after (≥70% viability) 120 °C, (p ≤ 0.05) higher than control, without observing changes pH values. also demonstrated 100% formulation purity days 0 120, among all treatments. In conclusion, three months, when stored

Phylogeny of Hirsutella species (Ophiocordycipitaceae) from the USA: remedying the paucity of Hirsutella sequence data.
Hirsutella (Ophiocordycipitaceae: Hypocreales) is a genus of insect, mite, and nematode pathogens with an asexual morph, which generally produce a mucilaginous cluster of one or several conidia on phialides that are basally subulate and taper to a fine neck. The generic name Hirsutella has been proposed for suppression in favour of Ophiocordyceps as a consequence of the ending of dual nomenclat...
متن کاملHirsutella uncinata, a new hyphomycete from Australia.
Hirsutella uncinata, collected on follicles of Hakea sp. in New South Wales, Australia, is described as a new anamorph species. The fungus produces stiff, erect, verticillate conidiophores with up to 10 whorls of hooked, phialidic conidiogenous cells that have rough-walled necks. The conidia are subfusiform, flattened on one side and produced in groups of 2-3 in a dense slimy ball at the end of...
متن کاملHirsutella sinensis mycelium attenuates bleomycin-induced pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis in vivo
Hirsutella sinensis mycelium (HSM), the anamorph of Cordyceps sinensis, is a traditional Chinese medicine that has been shown to possess various pharmacological properties. We previously reported that this fungus suppresses interleukin-1β and IL-18 secretion by inhibiting both canonical and non-canonical inflammasomes in human macrophages. However, whether HSM may be used to prevent lung fibros...
متن کاملDetection and quantification of the nematophagous fungus Hirsutella minnesotensis in soil with real-time PCR
A real-time PCR assay was developed to quantify in soil the fungus Hirsutella minnesotensis, an important parasite of secondary-stage juvenile (J2) of the soybean cyst nematode. A primer pair 50-GGGAGGCCCGGTGGA-30 and 50-TGATCCGAGGTCAACTTCTGAA-30 and a TaqMan probe 50-CGTCCGCCGTAAAACGCCCAAC-30 were designed based on the sequence of the ITS region of the rRNA gene. The primers were highly specie...
متن کاملMorphological and Molecular Characterization of a Fungus, Hirsutella sp., Isolated from Planthoppers and Psocids in Argentina
A mycosed planthopper, Oliarus dimidiatus Berg (Hemiptera: Cixiidae), and two psocids, Heterocaecilius sp. (Psocodea: Pseudocaeciliidae) and Ectopsocus sp. (Ectopsocidae), were collected from Los Hornos and La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina between February and September 2007. Observations of mycelia growing on the host revealed that the putative fungal parasite had synnemata supporting monophi...
